Washer Necklace

Continuing on with Jewellery making with things from the hardware store.

Another trip to Ace, another piece. I love the combination of gold and silver together. I definitely wear more silver than gold, but I think gold adds a touch of warmth and fanciness, I can’t help but like.

What you’re going to need:

Everything above, I got at Ace Hardware. I’m not sure if every Ace stocks model paint, but its the best thing ever in the whole world.

I picked a couple and painted them with gold paint and let them dry. Then I turned them over and used Gorilla Glue and the S-bends to link them together

I wasn’t sure what I wanted in the beginning so this way I could build it up, let it dry, turn it over and decide as I went, what I wanted.

I nearly kept it like the one above but decided to even it out a bit.

Once it was done, I just tied a bit of suede cord and snipped off the ends. My boyfriend Will says it looks like something out of Star-Trek, but he actually means it as a compliment.

  1. Really splendid use of hardware…. it wouldn’t have been so interesting if you had made it perfectly symmentrical….as it is, real style.
